Who is Steven Palmer

As with many kiwi kids, Steven took an interest in fixing household machinery and building structures using the materials available in his surroundings. This interest eventually led him to become a passionate engineer.

With this love of engineering and belief in quality services for all, Steven created TechinicAir. After operating for more than two decades, TechnicAir is today a company with a solid foothold in the Wellington region, known for proven resilience, strong client relationships, and sustained quality.

Working with tertiary institutions, research organisations, and large commercial facilities, we design & build, upgrade, install, repair, and maintain systems that perform across entire campuses—not just individual buildings.

Proven experiences

For over 20 years, TechnicAir has undertaken many custom design - build projects as well as supply and install to specification. Due to the success of these, we have developed long standing relationships with our clients, project and construction managers, architects and building owners to the point where we are often the preferred mechanical services contractor.

Marine Systems

Maintain and provide bespoke solutions for the RV's Tangaroa, Kaharoa 2 and Ikatere HVAC and Refrigeration plants

Design and install HVAC equipment as seen here at Les Mills Taranaki St's new Studio 1 and Immersive studio air conditioning systems

Repair & Refurbish

We provide an in house manufacture and repair of refrigeration and HVAC equipment service in our well equiped workshop. Here is a crank shaft out of a Bock 6-cylinder refrigeration compressor undergoing full refurbishment

General Comfort HVAC

We are proud to create healthy, productive environments for staff, customers and residents. Shown here is one our latest collaborations with Makers Architects for the provision ot a design build HVAC solution for the new Centerport Marine Base.

Today, AKO Group is a company with a clear international focus, operating in 70+ countries and maintaining established partnerships and collaborations worldwide.

With the ever increasing cost of HFC refrigerants in New Zealand, early detection and monitoring of the refrigerant charge paramount. Ako offer a comprehensive range of refrigerant gas detectors and monitoring equipment of which TA has successfully supplied and installed a number of these devices.
